Navigating Grief, Together
“Dying and grief, when they come, is nothing like we expect it to be. But however uncertain its guise may be its arrival is one of the central certainties of existence.” - Joan Didion
Juanita is a certified death educator and grief counselor. Leaning on professional skills, and most importantly what she has learned from caring for her husband until his death, and her personal, ongoing (nearly two years) experience with grief, this class will offer two themes:
Part One: Reflections on Living Well and Dying Well
Part one includes four, ninety-minute meetings.
Part Two: “Grief turns out to be a place none of us know until we reach it.” - Joan Didion
Part two also includes four, ninety-minute meetings.
This eight-week class will require participants to listen to a podcast, watch a video, or read an essay in between classes. Classes will be a time for a short meditation, and nurturing, thoughtful, easy-going conversations about the day's subject.
