Autumn 2022 -
Writing the Story of Your Life
THIS CLASS IS FULL AND THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE HAS PASSED.
Would you like to participate in a guided autobiography group?
Although life may seem like a random or monotonous series of events, they are much more than that. Every life has a plot, a theme, a through-line. You can learn from writing your story and sharing it with others who are writing theirs.
This is an opportunity to explore where you have been, where you are, and where you are going.
How is the workshop set up?
The workshop includes eight, ninety-minute meetings.
Each meeting will include:
Between sessions, you will be required to write on a significant theme of your life history. Juanita will provide priming questions to help you.
People who think they can’t write are surprised at how well they do because they are writing about material that means so much to them.
Juanita has facilitated eight autobiography writing groups. She has found that when individuals write and share their stories in a safe atmosphere, magic happens. People better understand their own lives; other people’s stories spark even more memories. There is richness, and authenticity, that shapes these groups, which makes the experience very special.
